Longest jump by a Origami Frog

A origami paper frog Lisa Hodson, USA, reported that, under controlled conditions (a flat surface of paper over hard wood floor and no draft), a leap of 74.7 cm was achieved by a variation of the American Jumping Frog by Kennedy published in a FOCA annual . The frog was folded out of a 15 cm square of white photocopy paper with the grain of the paper from top to bottom at step 1 of folding (the length of folded frog was approximately 5.5 cm). Lisa did not record the date, but it was in April, 1994. Excluding this jump, this particular frog had a mean jump length of about 30 cm. Lisa scientifically demonstrated that for this particular frog model folded out of photocopy paper, the orientation of the paper grain does not significantly affect jump length.

Baby-Gami

Baby-Gami Book Cover In 2005, Chronicle Books published a book called Baby-Gami. If Origami means fold paper then does baby-gami mean fold baby? No, Baby-Gami is all about folding blankets around babies. Sort of like... sushi. This art form is actually called swaddling and is well known to mothers throughout the world. Young babies are wrapped up tight so they feel like they are still in the confines of the womb. Older babies are wrapped up in a sling so that they can be carried around. But, this book goes further - it has fashionable, stylish wraps.

Longest Origami Train

Origami's Longest Train In 2003, the British Origami Society and David Brill orchestrated the assembly of the longest origami train. Organizers invited origami enthusiasts from all over the world to send paper train cars. The 1,550 train cars arriving from many countries were connected into a 254 meters long train. Unfortunately, Guinness World Records did not include this feat into their book of records stating that it was too specialized.

Origami is not just paper....

Origami from Clothes Origami is traditionally made out of a square piece of paper, which can be white or colorful of having unique designs. However can you believe that origami can even be made of coarse cloth, foil and even food.

Largest Origami Crane

Largest Origami Crane Most people think that origami is about the creation of small things, but try telling that to Wings for Peace. The organization made the world's largest crane in 1999. It stood 215 feet tall and weighed 1,750 pounds. The crane was so big that it had to be made inside of a football stadium. Contrary to popular belief, the crane is made from 100 percent paper.

Inside Reverse Fold

Inside Reverse fold is nothing but a reverse fold which is folded inside. To make a inside reverse fold:- 1. Make a Square and fold it into half as shown in the figure. 2. Fold the part of the model which is to be reverse folded back and forth as shown in the images pictured above. 3.Push the part which is to be reverse folded in as shown in the figures and strengthen the creases. 4. At the end we have a great INSIDE REVERSE FOLD!!!!
